I don't actually live anywhere near Kursk. It's more like the joke about the drunk man looking for his keys under the streetlamp -- the sign over the door of the village club gave away its whereabouts, so I looked for other possible shooting locations nearby in places where there is good Google Street View or Panoramio coverage (and at the local hotels). I'm just as surprised as you at how much work Rylsky has done in the region.

I had seen that sign too but novyy mir is a very common place name...
Rylsky's affinity with Kursk should have been obvious. His vkontakte page used to say "рдной орд: осква-Курк" (it doesn't now).
